Wales defender James Collins has been ruled out of the Euro 2008 qualifier away to San Marino on Wednesday.
The West Ham centre-back suffered a recurrence of his calf injury during the 3-1 defeat to Cyprus on Saturday, in which he scored Wales' opener.
The former Cardiff player has been undergoing intensive treatment, but with the Wales medical team ruling he will not be fit to face San Marino, he has now returned to Upton Park.
John Toshack will not call up a replacement for the Group D encounter as he already has Craig Morgan and Steve Evans in his squad as cover.
Toshack's men have no chance of reaching the Euro 2008 finals, but the Wales boss has set his side the target of finishing third in their group.
They are currently five points behind third-placed Republic of Ireland, although Steve Staunton's side have played one game more.
