Patrice Evra believes Manchester United team-mate Louis Saha will be fit to play for France this weekend.
Saha was not able to play any part in United's 4-0 victory over Wigan on Saturday after injuring his knee just before kick-off.
The striker has been beset by injuries since moving to Old Trafford and only recently returned to the United side.
Sir Alex Ferguson insisted last week that Saha's call-up to the France squad was not a concern, as he did not necessarily expect him to play.
But Evra thinks Saha could feature in the Euro 2008 qualifier against Faroe Islands on Saturday.
"Louis is a little short (of fitness)," Evra told radio station RMC Info.
"He warmed up on Saturday, but his knee had swollen and he had to withdraw.
"He will reply to the French team call, and will be available for Saturday because that will make it one week of rest.
"It had swollen but there was no pain. He doesn't take any risks.
"To me, it won't be a surprise to see him playing, but of course Ferguson could moan because Louis didn't play with us."
