Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the Reds' Europa League campaign will be deemed a failure unless they win the competition.
The much maligned competition does not have the same amount of glamour that is associated with the UEFA Champions League.
However, for Liverpool's 32-year-old captain, it is still a tournament that he wants to win and one in which he is targeting success.
"It'll be nice if we win it," he told the club's official website.
"It's another trophy for us and it's a wonderful trophy if you go all the way, but if we end up playing 16 or 17 games and then go out in the quarter-finals or last 16 it's worthless.
"We win it or it means nothing."
