Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola paid tribute to his side following their 7-0 Champions League demolition of Shakhtar Donetsk at the Allianz Arena.
After playing out a drab goalless draw in the first leg in Ukraine, Bayern made no mistake against a Shakhtar side reduced to 10 men in just the third minute.
Shaktar's horrendous start saw Olexander Kucher sent off by Scottish referee Willie Collum for bringing down Mario Gotze in the penalty area.
Kucher’s dismissal is the fastest in the Champions League, beating the previous red card record of five minutes 52 seconds for Werder Bremen's Valerien Ismael against Inter Milan in September 2004.
Thomas Muller netted with the spot-kick and he later added a second goal with Jerome Boateng, Franck Ribery, Holger Badstuber, Robert Lewandowski and Gotze also on target for the German champions.
"We're very happy, it's a well-deserved victory," said Guardiola.
"The players played superbly. Of course, some will say it was easier for us playing 11 against 10 but it's not true.
"We also played for 25 minutes with one man down in Ukraine. We saw from the off that the team was up for it. We dominated the entire game and I only have to congratulate the team."
Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu admitted his side had come up short on all fronts after Kucher's dismissal.
"I think the red card was unfair. From then on we couldn't play our game as planned. We lost out in all areas. They were stronger all round,” he said.
"The match was over for us after 3-0. I'm sad that the score was so high."
