Celtic take on AC Milan in the opening fixture of their UEFA Champions League campaign and Lustig insists a positive result is not beyond them.
"Of course we are going there to play some good football," said the Sweden defender.
"But we're not going to be happy to go there, play some decent football but go back to Glasgow with zero points. We will go for three points if possible, or maybe even one."
Lustig will come up against Mario Balotelli for the second time in his career after facing the striker in Sweden's 2-1 defeat to Italy in the UEFA U21 Championship in 2009.
The defender acknowledged the danger the Milan star poses but is confident the Celtic rearguard have what it takes to contain him.
"Balotelli is a good player. I faced him once and he scored in that game," he said.
"Of course he is a top, top player but we managed to stop some good players last year as well.
"We've got everything a real big talent, he's got everything and it's going to be tough for us but I think we can do it."
