Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas could miss the Champions League last-16 games against Manchester United after breaking a bone in his hand.
Real confirmed Casillas suffered the injury in Wednesday's Copa del Ray quarter-final with Valencia.
The Spanish international was hurt in the 18th minute of the 1-1 draw when teammate Alvaro Arbeloa kicked him while clearing a loose ball in the area.
Real say Casillas will be evaluated by a specialist on Thursday to "decide what treatment to seek" but gave no indication how long the goalkeeper will be sidelined.
"After carrying out initial x-rays at the La Moraleja Sanitas Hospital it has been confirmed that Iker Casillas has suffered a fracture at the base of the first metacarpal on his left hand," the club said in a statement.
"It will be assessed again by a specialist later today to decide what treatment will be followed."
Adan Garrido, who has shared starts with Casillas recently, is likely to take his place for the ties against United.
