Everton look at Brazilian ace

Everton have reportedly failed with a bid for Benfica's Brazilian international defender Luisao. The Toffees are looking for at least one new defender following the departure of Joleon Lescott to Manchester City. David Moyes allegedly already has a deal in place for Sylvain Distin, but it seems he wants further reinforcements. According to Portuguese sources, this has led to a €12million bid (£10.5million) for Luisao - but Benfica were quick to snub the offer, informing Everton that they will only do business at €20million (£17.5million). It now remains to be seen whether Everton will come back for the 27-year-old central defender, who has been with the Portuguese giants for six years. Luisao has been constantly linked with a move away from the Estadio da Luz this summer with the likes of Fiorentina and Fenerbahce also said to be keen.
