FC Twente coach Steve McClaren reckons Friday's opponents Heracles Almelo play the best brand of football in the Eredivisie.

McClaren saw his side lose top spot last weekend as they were hammered 3-0 by PSV Eindhoven, who replaced them as league leaders.

But the Enschede outfit have the chance to leapfrog both PSV and second-placed Vitesse Arnhem as when they take to the park on Friday night.

Former England manager McClaren has praised Heracles for the way they play and knows Peter Bosz's side can more than hold their own.

"I think they play the most attractive football in the Eredivisie," he said of Heracles. "In the away match against Vitesse (a 1-1 draw) I saw them play and I thought that their risky style of play would see them lose.

"They will want to take the initiative tomorrow - we must ensure that they do not take the match under their own control."

McClaren is also keen to see a reaction from his players following last weekend's disappointing result.

"We want to always win after a defeat," he said. "Then it is important that as a team we come back strong."

PSV face a trip to NEC Nijmegen on Saturday safe in the knowledge that they may need only a draw to return to the top of the table.

Dick Advocaat's side have by far the best goal difference in the division and know that, if Twente do win on Friday evening, just a point would be enough to regain control.

Two of the Eredivisie strugglers also meet on Saturday when 17th-placed Roda JC welcome NAC Breda to the Parkstad Limburg Stadion.

NAC sit just two points ahead of Roda in 16th and have won only once on the road in the league this season, although a victory could lift them as high as 12th - depending on the result of the match between PEC Zwolle and AZ Alkmaar.

Vitesse could find themselves third by the time they kick-off at home to RKC Waalwijk on Sunday with fourth-placed Ajax, just a point behind both Vitesse and Twente heading into the weekend, travelling to Willem II.

Elsewhere on Sunday fifth-placed Feyenoord host ADO Den Haag and Heerenveen face a trip to FC Utrecht.
