PSV held as Twente and Ajax leave it late to claim three points

PSV Eindhoven conceded a last-gasp equaliser away to NEC Nijmegen as fellow title contenders FC Twente and Ajax were both forced to come from behind against lowly opposition to secure wins on Sunday. Eredivisie leaders PSV are now only one point clear at the summit after being held to a 2-2 draw away by NEC. Leroy George had given NEC the lead on 41 minutes, but PSV managed to level before half-time through Balazs Dzsudzsak. Jeremain Lens' 63rd minute goal appeared to have done enough to earn PSV all three points, but NEC snatched a point through Ramon Zomer's last-minute goal. Substitute Ola John scored a late winner as reigning champions Twente were forced to battle for a 2-1 home success over second bottom VVV Venlo. The visitors took a shock fourth minute lead through Ferry de Regt, but Twente levelled just past the half-hour mark through Wout Brama. VVV were hanging on a for point until Twente sub John pounced six minutes from time to keep his side's title defence on track. Ajax also remain in the hunt after scoring twice inside the final 10 minutes to beat 10-man Willem II Tilburg 3-1 away from home. Bottom club Willem II led on 19 minutes through Rangelo Janga, but Ajax were level two minutes into the second half through Siem de Jong. The home side then had substitute Denis Halilovic sent off in the 73rd minute just six minutes after he had been introduced to the game. Ajax took full advantage by taking the lead through Jan Vertonghen with 10 minutes to go and Christian Eriksen made the points safe two minutes from time. Feyenoord were another team to grab a late winner as Stefan de Vrij's 88th minute effort earned a 2-1 home win over NAC Breda. The in-form Luc Castaignos had earlier given Feyenoord a 30th minute lead before substitute Julian Jenner drew NAC level on 59 minutes. Rydell Poepon's 10th minute goal was enough to clinch three points for De Graafschap courtesy of a 1-0 home success over ADO Den Haag.
