ADO Den Haag were able to push through a deal for Paulus Roiha from Cercle Brugge before the transfer window slammed shut, but failed to sign Iwan Redan.
ADO were extremely active in the January market and coach Frans Adelaar secured the services of Roiha as he seeks to steer the club away from trouble.
The Finn has moved on a free transfer and will look to prove himself worthy of a long-term deal at the club.
ADO were not able to bring in Redan from Willem II.
Willem II are keen to offload the forward, having sanctioned trials all over Europe, but were not prepared to strengthen a side battling with them to avoid relegation.
"We will not cooperate on that," Willem II coach Kees Zwamborn told Brabants Dagblad.
"At this stage we won't make our competitors for the play-offs stronger."
Redan would appear to be in limbo, as he does not have the trust of Zwamborn and will likely have to watch from the sidelines until the summer.
