WILLEM II have been dealt a blow with the news that star young attacker Jos van Nieuwstadt is set to undergo knee surgery.
Van Nieuwstadt limped out of Willem`s 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar on Saturday, and has been told he needs to undergo exploratory surgery.
The Tilburg club are unsure as to the extent of the injury, so have been advised to send the striker for an exploratory operation.
Willem are hopeful he will be fit when the Eredivisie season resumes in February, but will have more of an idea after the operation.
This is the latest setback for van Nieuwstadt, who missed six weeks at the start of the season with a hamstring injury.
