FC Twente closed the gap on PSV Eindhoven with victory over Willem II after the leaders drew with Sparta Rotterdam.

Rydell Poepon's last-gasp equaliser earned Sparta Rotterdam an unlikely point at PSV Eindhoven.

Otman Bakkal gave PSV the lead after 14 minutes, but they could not add to their advantage and they were made to pay the price when Poepon popped up with a leveller three minutes into stoppage-time.

Steve McClaren's FC Twente moved to within a point of PSV with a narrow 1-0 victory over Willem II.

Peter Wisgerhof grabbed the all-important winner for Twente on 54 minutes to boost their title ambitions.

Ajax proved too strong for Vitesse Arnhem, running out 4-0 winners at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Siem de Jong set Ajax on their way with the opener after 18 minutes and top scorer Luis Suarez doubled the lead three minutes later.

Paul Verhaegh netted an unfortunate own goal on 27 minutes to extend Ajax's lead and De Jong added a fourth just before the hour mark with his second goal of the contest.

Danny Buijs' last-gasp goal earned ADO Den Haag a dramatic 2-2 draw with Feyenoord at De Kuip.

The visitors were gifted the lead after just 10 minutes Giovanni van Bronckhorst put through his own net, but Feyenoord drew level 13 minutes later courtesy of Georginio Wijnaldum's strike.

Jon Dahl Tomasson fired Feyenoord in front on 76 minutes and it looked like being enough for the home side until Buijs popped up with an equaliser three minutes into stoppage-time.
