Leaders' advantage back to three points

PSV Eindhoven restored their three-point lead at the top of Eredivisie table, but they were made to work hard for victory at Heracles. The Almelo outfit, who themselves are riding high in fifth, held out until just before the hour when Ola Toivonen grabbed the winner for PSV. Feyenoord dropped further behind the top three as they were held to a goalless draw at Utrecht. Sparta Rotterdam moved out of bottom three after claiming a 2-0 win over VVV Venlo. The home side were ahead within the opening 60 seconds as Joshua John scored. Edouard Duplan doubled that advantage on the half-hour, and Sparta could even cope with having Donovan Slijngard dismissed early in the second period. RCK Waalwijk remain five points adrift at the bottom of the table after going down 2-1 at FC Groningen. Fredrik Stenman put Groningen ahead just before the break and Andreas Granqvist then doubled that lead on the hour from the penalty spot. RKC, who were reduced to 10 men after 65 minutes when Charlison Benschop was dismissed, grabbed a consolation in the final minute through Derk Boerrigter.
