Sparta have swooped to sign Nigerian midfielder Sani Kaita.
Sparta have swooped to sign Nigerian midfielder Sani Kaita.The 19-year-old came to the attention of the promoted Rotterdam club during the Fifa Youth World Cup and they fought tooth and nail to secure his signature.
Kaita was also the subject of interest from CSKA Moscow, Marseille, Club Brugge and Metalurg Donetsk, but he opted to head for the Eredivisie.
The teenager, who has already represented his country at full international level, has signed a four-year deal with Sparta.
Prior to kicking off his career in the Netherlands, Kaita will attempt to help his country overcome Algerian in World Cup qualifying.
