Dutch debutant enjoying life at Manchester United

Manchester United new-boy Alexander Buttner admits he had to pinch himself to make sure he was not dreaming ahead of his Old Trafford debut. The Dutch left-back made a perfect start to life in the Premier League as he scored United's third goal in a 4-0 win over visitors Wigan. He also created another and helped keep a clean sheet as Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson decided to rest Patrice Evra ahead of Wednesday's Champions League tie against Galatasaray. But the 23-year-old admits it has been a whirlwind few weeks since his surprise move from Dutch top-flight side Vitesse Arnhem.

Fast

"When I stood on the pitch on Saturday, I thought 'how have I ended up here'," he said. "It has all happened a bit fast. You hope to get some minutes on the pitch, but I was suddenly in the team. "I heard about it first on Friday from Rene Meulensteen (United coach) and then from Ferguson. "I'm just going to enjoy playing football and I really enjoyed my debut I'm learning here every day."
