Young hit-man sees season cut short

PSV have been dealt a massive blow with the news prolific striker Jonathan Reis has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee problem. The 21-year-old sustained the injury after colliding with Roda JC goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton during PSV's 3-1 triumph earlier this month. Team doctor Tjaarda Weber has since revealed the hit-man has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament and medial ligament and is facing a lengthy rehabilitation. PSV head coach Fred Rutten says, while the injury has come as a shock to Reis, the youngster is determined to give everything to making a full recovery. "Of course he regrets it terribly, but I can tell that he's very combative," Rutten told Voetbal International. "He is determined to return and that is a precious attitude when you have such a difficult path ahead."
