PSV Eindhoven recovered from their midweek UEFA Champions League exit at Lyon to earn a goalless draw at Dutch rivals Ajax.
Danny Blind's side are well off the pace for the Eredivisie title, but the Amsterdam club were looking for a boost before their Champions League clash at Internazionale next week.
The 0-0 draw takes PSV eight points clear of second-placed Feyenoord, while Ajax remain 20 points behind Guus Hiddink's side in the table.
Struggling ADO Den Haag came from a goal down to defeat Groningen 2-1.
Erik Nevland gave visiting Groningen the lead on the quarter hour mark, but former Rangers striker Michael Mols restored parity for Den Haag eight minutes later.
That allowed Ferry Bodde to claim ADO's win with a penalty on 66 minutes to delight the home crowd in The Hague.
Goals by Romano Denneboom (4) and on-loan Manchester United starlet David Jones (56) gave NEC Nijmegen a 2-0 win over struggling Heracles Almelo.
Finally, ten-man Sparta Rotterdam came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw at Roda JC Kerkrade.
Sparta looked set to struggle when Danny Schenkel was sent off for a second bookable offence three minutes into the second half.
Roda then claimed the lead on 57 minutes through Simon Cziommer, but Sparta earned a valuable point seven minutes later when Wouter Gudde equalised for the visitors.
