Ruud Knol is facing another spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring strain against Heerenveen.
The talented defender had only recently returned to the Vitesse Arnhem first team after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Knol was looking to put almost two years of injury torment behind him but his hopes of an extended run in the team have been dashed.
He limped out of the 1-0 defeat to Heerenveen at the weekend after 21 minutes and will now anxiously await results of scans to ascertain how long he will be sidelined for.
