Janssen has made 27 appearances for the Eredivisie strugglers this term, the majority from the start, and was expected to be a key figure for the club.
But the 21-year-old fears he will be forced to play second fiddle to Jan van Halst next season and is adamant he will not be kicking his heels on the substitutes' bench.
"I cannot play besides Jan van Halst," affirmed Janssen to Omroep Gelderland.
"I expect him to play again next season. The chance is there that I will be on the bench again. I'm not sitting on the bench next year."
The highly-rated Dutchman concedes he has not produced his best form this term and has vowed to improve if he is given the chance.
He added: "I've played a very bad season. I know what I can do and I didn't show it.
"I'll do my best for next season. If the outcome from that is that I end up on the bench, then we'll see what's possible."
Janssen is due to undergo an operation on his leg in the summer and faces a fight to be fit for the start of pre-season training.
