Teenager Jairo Riedewald made a dream league debut for Ajax with two late goals to help his side claim a 2-1 comeback win over Roda JC and a return to the top of the Eredivisie ahead of the winter break.

The Amsterdammers appeared on course for only their fourth defeat of the season with Roda leading through Henk Dijkhuizen's 34th-minute goal but 17-year-old defender Riedewald, an 80th-minute substitute, levelled in the 88th minute before grabbing the winner in time added on.

The win sees Ajax move back above Vitesse Arnhem on goal difference.

PSV Eindhoven have had a first half of the season to forget but at least go into the break on a good note after a 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag.

They were given a helping hand when ADO goalkeeper Gino Coutinho was sent off after half an hour, with Jurgen Locadio netting the resulting penalty before adding a second four minutes before half-time.

FC Groningen got in the party mood with a 5-2 thrashing of NEC Nijmegen.

Michael De Leeuw got the first after 14 minutes before quickfire goals from Filip Kostic and Eric Botteghin made it 3-0 before the half-hour mark.

De Leeuw got his second four minutes into the second half and, although Christoph Hemlein and Alireza Jahanbakhsh pulled goals back for the visitors, De Zeeuw finished off the game - and his hat-trick - with a 70th-minute strike.

Go Ahead Eagles came from behind to beat FC Utrecht 2-1 at home.

Cedric Badjeck gave the visitors a fourth-minute lead but Jeffrey Rijsdijk levelled 10 minutes later before Jop van der Linden won it from the penalty spot with quarter of an hour remaining.
