PSV Eindhoven manager Dick Advocaat wants his side to build on Wednesday's "very important" cup victory over Feyenoord when they return to Eredivisie action this weekend.
Dries Mertens and Mark van Bommel scored the goals as the Eindhoven club won their KNVB Beker clash 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals.
It was a win that delighted manager Advocaat ahead of Saturday's return to league action.
PSV sit top of the Eredivisie after 20 matches and welcome ADO Den Haag to the Philips Stadion as they look to build a cushion at the top.
"I thought we controlled the game pretty well in the first period and we created a number of decent chances to open the scoring," Advocaat said of the win over Feyenoord.
"We deservedly took the lead but then we again conceded a sloppy, unnecessary goal, after which we became more cautious.
"We pressed for a winner while we were in control for a long period in the second half. But then Feyenoord had their best spell of the game midway through the second half.
"We were lucky to regain the lead from a set-piece. This is a very important victory for us."
PSV would build a four-point lead at the top with victory over Den Haag on Saturday, although FC Twente could reduce that gap back to one point when they host FC Utrecht the following day.
Steve McClaren's side will be boosted by the news key central midfielder Leroy Fer is to remain at De Grolsch Veste after a proposed move to Everton broke down.
However, the Tukkers will be without Nacer Chadli against Utrecht after the attacker suffered a hamstring tear.
Another side looking to close the gap on leaders PSV will be Ajax, who face Vitesse Arnhem in the Beker Cup this evening.
Frank de Boer's side return to Eredivisie action on Sunday when they travel to VVV-Venlo, while tonight's opponents Vitesse head to NEC Nijmegen.
Willem II host Feyenoord in Sunday's late fixture, while tomorrow evening RKC Waalwijk face Heerenveen.
