NEC Nijmegen captain Peter Wisgerhof is likely to miss the remainder of the season.
The defender limped out of last week's draw against Groningen with a muscle injury and tests have revealed a tear which is likely to rule him out of action for the next six weeks.
With just four games remaining, Wisgerhof will not figure in the regular season, but could still take his place in the team, should NEC secure a spot in the play-offs.
NEC, meanwhile, are set to appoint Vincent Paes as their new chairman after Hans van Delft stepped down on Wednesday.
