Midfielder leaves Dutch club for Germany

German side FC Augsburg have completed the signing of Dutch midfielder Kees Kwakman from NAC Breda. The 27-year-old makes the switch to the German second tier for an undisclosed transfer fee, and becomes the club's third signing from the Eredivisie this summer. Kwakman follows Paul Verhaegh and Gibril Sankoh to Augsburg, and Dutch manager Jos Luhukay is delighted to have completed the deal. He told the club's official website: "I am extremely pleased to have been able to welcome Kees Kwakman at our club. "It's great this has taken place with so little time left for transfers. He will be another good addition to our defensive build-up." Kwakman, who previously spent the duration of his career in Holland, can play in defence or in defensive midfield.
