NAC Breda midfielder David Mendes da Silva is set for a spell on the sidelines.The 22-year-old has been struggling with a niggling abdominal problem for some time, but has elected to play through the pain.
The club's medical team performed a detailed examination this week and came to the conclusion that it would be wise to send Mendes da Silva for an operation just before the winter break.
NAC coach Ton Lokhoff has been advised that Mendes da Silva will return to the fold in around six weeks.
