Sky Sports understands that Nottingham Forest have lodged a bid for FC Utrecht striker Jacob Mulenga.
The 29-year-old boasts an impressive scoring record in Dutch football - netting 14 times in the Eredivisie last season.
His exploits have now been noted outside of Holland, with clubs in England and Spain reported to be plotting summer raids.
It appears as though Forest are the first to make their move, with an offer having been put to Utrecht.
They will be understandably reluctant to part with the Zambia international, but could see their hand forced if suitable terms are tabled.
Forest have already secured the services of Darius Henderson on a permanent basis this summer, but Reds boss Billy Davies is keen to further bolsters his attacking options ahead of a push for promotion in 2013/14.
