Utrecht defender Edson Braafheid looks set for a move to Belgian side Anderlecht during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old's contract expires in the summer, and Utrecht are believed to be looking to cash in on the player, instead of allowing him to leave for free in the summer.

Although losing Braafheid would be a blow to his side, Utrecht manager Foeke Booy has said that the cash brought in from his departure will be used to make changes to his squad.

"We have hardly got any money for reinforcements," said Booy.

"The scouting team has already done their homework and we've got a list of players that we want."

Booy went on to reveal what positions he is looking to strengthen with his funds during the transfer window.

"On that list, there is a replacement for Braafheid, and also a player in attack."
