Cornelisse still sidelined

Utrecht defender Tim Cornelisse has been ruled out for an additional month.

Utrecht defender Tim Cornelisse has been ruled out for an additional month.

The defender picked up a knee injury against Groningen on December 11, with the club's medical team pointing to a four-week period of inactivity.

However, the problem failed to respond to treatment and an MRI-scan has now revealed damage to Cornelisse's kneecap.

The player has been informed that he will have to spend a further four weeks on the sidelines before he can be considered for selection.

In other news, Piet Buter will replace Arno Pijpers as technical manager at Utrecht.

Buter, 53, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal and will take up his new post in February.

Utrecht were forced to seek out a new technical manager when Pijpers opted to take up a coaching role with the Kazakhstan national side.
