Groningen have boosted their goalkeeping options for next season with the capture of Brian van Loo.
The 30-year-old had informed Heracles Almelo that he would be leaving on a Bosman in the summer and secured a contract with Groningen at the end of last week.
Van Loo had been the number one at Heracles for much of the millennium, but was usurped when the club landed Martin Pieckenhagen in the summer.
The keeper has decided to move on for a fresh challenge and has signed a two-year contract and will vie with Bas Roorda for the number one jersey.
Groningen have already informed Jeroen Lambers that his contract will not be renewed.
