Belgian defender Martijn Monteyne will join Roda JC in the summer after penning a four-year deal with the Eredivisie club.
The 26-year-old, a friend of Roda coach Harm van Veldhoven, will join the Kerkrade club on a free transfer from native outfit Germinal Beerschot in June.
Roda technical director Martin van Geel feels Monteyne, who made his professional debut at the age of 16 for Belgian club SV Roeselare, will be a valuable addition to the squad.
"Danny is an aggressive defender in the positive sense," Van Geel told the club's official website. "He's very strong defensively and will help things.
"Given his debut at a young age he already has the necessary experience. Danny is an excellent reinforcement for Roda JC."
Monteyne becomes Roda's second acquisition for next season after the club already secured the capture of Ajax midfielder Donald Mitchell, who will also
join on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
