Roda JC were denied fourth spot in the Eredivisie after a shock 3-2 loss to lowly Sparta Rotterdam.
The near-capacity crowd at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion were silenced after 22 minutes when Sjaak Polak fired Sparta ahead.
Into the second half and Trinidad & Tobago striker Darryl Roberts became the hero for Sparta as he grabbed two goals in 14 minutes (48 & 62).
The home side attempted a fight back and pulled one back just five minutes later when Danny Schenkel put through his own net.
Sparta then had real hope when Marcel Meeuwis converted from the penalty spot with 12 minutes remaining - but they could not find an equaliser as Sparta claimed only their second win of the season.
The three points takes Sparta out of the relegation zone and into thirteenth.
