NEC to offload quartet

NEC Nijmegen have confirmed that they will not extend the contracts of four players.

NEC Nijmegen have confirmed that they will not extend the contracts of four players in the summer.

Frank Demouge, Pascal Heije, Thijs Hendriks and Charles Kazlauskas will all be allowed to depart on the Bosman ruling.

22-year-old Demouge (pictured) had been a regular first team player, although has missed most of the current campaign due to a serious knee injury.

Heije was favoured under previous boss Johan Neeskens, but under the present tenure of Cees Lok the 25-year-old has been marginalised.

Hendriks and Kazlauskas are predominantly reserve players, and failed to break into Lok's reckoning .

However NEC have been keen to keep hold of keeper Dennis Gentenaar, although he is believed to be searching for a new challenge in foreign climes.

The Eredivisie outfit may find themselves short at the back next term as 41-year-old Albert van der Sleen is set to retire, although defenders Jose Valencia and Peter Wisgerhof are in talks regarding contract extensions.
