RODA performed an about-turn over the weekend, signing Yugoslav defender Predrag Filipovic after initially claiming he was too expensive.
The left back impressed the Kerkrade side during a recent trial, but it appeared a move would not happen when Roda baulked at his demands.
Coach Wiljan Vloet was pleased with what he saw, and technical director Nol Hendriks relented and decided Filipovic could be accommodated in their wage structure.
Filipovic has penned a three-year deal and just needs to be granted a work permit before making his debut.
The 27-year-old, who can also play on the left-hand side of midfield, has been in Belgium for the last three seasons, with Eendracht Aalst and more recently Lommel.
