Excelsior suffered a surprise defeat to amateur opposition in the third round of the Dutch Cup.
Elsewhere, top flight outfits Heerenveen and RKC Waalwijk were able to safely negotiate potential banana skins.
Excelsior were undoubtedly the biggest scalp claimed on Tuesday night, with the Eredivisie side going down 3-0 at home to GVVV.
The men from the third tier of Dutch football broke the deadlock through Dennis Van Meegdenburg three minutes before half-time.
It took until 11 minutes from time for them to edge further in front, with Jasper Bolland netting before Van Meegdenburg grabbed his second of the game on 86 minutes.
Heerenveen put in the most convincing performance of the night as they showed Excelsior how it should be done with a 6-1 win over amateur side Harkemase Boys.
The hosts were three up by half-time, with Filip Djuricic (16), Ramon Zomer (22) and Bas Dost (25) putting them in complete control.
Luciano Narsingh (54) and a penalty from Dost (71) extended the lead and youngster Quenten Martins wrapped up the scoring seven minutes from the end, by which time the visitors had been reduced to ten men.
RKC Waalwijk were also able to book their place in round four as they saw off Zwolle 1-0.
They left it late before securing their safe passage to the next stage, with Roald van Hout bagging the only goal of the game with just seven minutes remaining.
