Heerenveen have moved to plug their defence with the signing of NEC's Ramon Zomer for 650,000 euros.
Heerenveen have moved to plug their leaky defence with the signing of NEC captain Ramon Zomer for 650,000 euros.
The 28-year-old has been proposed as the solution for a defence that has conceded seven goals in their last two games.
Zomer had just one year remaining on his contract but is willing to accept the new challenge he has been handed.
"Heerenveen is a step up," he told Dutch newspaper De Gelderlander.
"NEC is a fantastic club that is warm with a great atmosphere around it. However in Friesland everything is a bit bigger.
"Heerenveen have had some disappointment in recent years but they are still a bigger club than NEC. I am very happy to take this next step in my career. "
