Heerenveen were in majestic form as they humiliated RBC Roosendaal 7-1 on Friday evening.
Roosendaal are in trouble near the foot of the table, whilst Heerenveen are pushing for a European place, and the gulf in class showed at Abe Lenstra Stadion.
Klaas Huntelaar started the romp, opening the scoring after 19 minutes from the penalty spot and doubling the advantage on the half-hour mark.
Huntelaar completed his hat-trick five minutes later - and then passed the scoring baton to Georgios Samaras.
Samaras notched number four two minutes before the break and then picked up his hat-trick in the second half with goals on 64 and 76, after Donny de Groot had grabbed a solitary consolation goal for the visitors..
With the home crowd enjoying every second, Lars Nilsson grabbed number seven with four minute remaining - leaving Samaras and Huntelaar to decide who wins the match ball.
