Ex-Feyenoord man says English clubs were chasing him in summer
Midfielder Luigi Bruins claims he turned down big-money offers from English clubs in favour of making the move to Red Bull Salzburg.
The 24-year-old joined the Austrian giants on a free transfer this week having left Feyenoord at the end of last season when his contract expired.
Dutchman Bruins says several clubs, from Russia and Ukraine as well as England, were chasing his signature before he opted for Salzburg.
"I got summer offers from England, Russia and Ukraine," he told Voetbal Primeur. "That was a lot of money, but I decided not to go there.
"(Red Bull) is a well-organised club - the best of Austria. I have great confidence in my stay here."
Salzburg coach Ricardo Moniz is pleased to welcome Bruins due to the amount of injury problems currently plaguing his squad.
He added: "Luigi can certainly add something, especially now that some key players are missing."
