Mols snubs Feyenoord

Feyenoord have revealed that Michael Mols snubbed the chance to move to De Kuip.

Feyenoord have revealed that Michael Mols turned down the chance to move to De Kuip

The forward announced in December that he would hang up his boots after seeing out the present season with ADO Den Haag.

However, Feyenoord felt there was a chance they could persuade the former Rangers man to play on and offered him a contract.

Mols, though, decided to stick to his original plan to retire in the summer and Feyenoord will now look at other options.

"We tried to get Mols, but it did not have the desired results as he is retiring," Feyenoord coach Erwin Koeman told PZC.

Sergio Sanchez made his debut for ADO in Sunday's 3-3 draw with Feyenoord, after the keeper was given the green light to complete his free transfer move.
