Feyenoord have opted to put Romeo Castelen on ice until the New Year.
The forward has been struggling with a hamstring injury for a number of weeks and the club feel it will be of long-term benefit to rest him through December.
"In order to let the injury fully recover Castelen won't be able to play again this year," Feyenoord's club doctor Robbart van Linsschoten told the club's website.
Feyenoord are third in the Eredivisie and face a crunch clash with leaders PSV Eindhoven at the weekend.
