Feyenoord coach Ruud Gullit is ready to restore Gabor Babos to the team when the Dutch season restarts at the end of January.

The Hungarian started the campaign as the undisputed number one at De Kuip, but Gullit pulled the keeper from the firing line following a run of indifferent displays.

Gullit, though, is ready to wipe the slate clean and has revealed that Babos will be given a fresh chance to prove himself.

"Babos will get the benefit of the doubt from me," Gullit told Telegraaf.nl. "He will start from scratch again.

"I think that the month's break has done him good.

"After a few unlucky moments, it was tough for him as the press and crowd started to doubt him.

"Now is the time to trust him again. In his reserve role, he has conducted himself in a professional manner."

With Babos set to take over in goal, Patrick Lodewijks will revert to the bench.

Gullit, meanwhile, is sweating over the fitness of starlet Romeo Castelen.

The 21-year-old forward has impressed this season, but he picked up a back injury in training this week and is set to be sent for a scan to ascertain the severity of the problem.
