Sky Sports News understands former England boss Steve McClaren is on his way back to Holland to take over as FC Twente manager for the second time.
McClaren won the Eredivisie title with Twente back in 2010 and is poised to take over from current coach Co Adriaanse.
Adriaanse is set for the sack after just over six months at the helm of the Enschede club, who currently sit third in the table.
Twente are yet to officially confirm 50-year-old McClaren's appointment but he is expected to be unveiled in the near future.
The Yorkshire boss will be hoping to repeat the success he enjoyed with the Dutch side during his first stint at De Grolsch Veste.
Since leaving in 2010, McClaren has endured ill-fated stints at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and in the Championship with Nottingham Forest.
He has been without a club since leaving Forest in October after less than four months in charge.
