Eredivisie round-up

Heerenveen claimed a 2-0 win at basement boys RBC Roosendaal.

Heerenveen brushed off the imminent departure of Georgios Samaras as they claimed a 2-0 win at basement boys RBC Roosendaal.

The Frisians sold Klaas Jan Huntelaar to Ajax at the start of January and seem set to lose his strike partner Samaras to Manchester City some four weeks later.

The setback could have prompted some teams to take their eyes off the ball, but Heerenveen stood tall and goals by Arnold Bruggink and Petter Hansson (pictured) sealed a welcome three points.

Manchester United loan star David Jones scored twice for NEC Nijmegen to rescue a point for his side against Willem II.

Struggling Willem II appeared to be cruising towards three points as Moussa Dembele and Frank van Mosselveld had them in control before the interval.

However, Jones netted 14 minutes from time to hand NEC a lifeline and he kept his nerve to slot home from the spot to seal a point for his new club.

Jason Oost's early goal was enough to give Sparta all three points from their meeting with Twente.
