Twente piled the misery on struggling Vitesse Arnhem with a stunning 5-3 win at The Gelredome.
The hosts got off to the worst possible start with Purrel Frankel putting through his own net after just three minutes.
Collins John doubled the lead six minutes later before two quick-fire goals from Michael Dingsdag (34) and Tim Cornelisse (36) drew Vitesse level.
John grabbed his second to restore Twente's lead on 39 minutes and Adil Ramzi added a fourth on the hour mark.
Blaise N'Kufo made the game safe with the fifth for Twente on 72 minutes before Jhon van Beukering pulled one back for Vitesse seven minutes from time to make the scoreline more respectable.
