The 21-year-old winger's current deal was set to expire at the end of the season but he has now penned a deal until 2006.
De Visscher played on loan for Emmen last season, and is a product of the youth system of Twente.
This season the former youth international has mostly been used as a substitute, but says he has talked with coach Rene Vandereycken who has assured him he has a future with the club.
"I have had bad luck in that Ellery Cairo, the best player of Twente, plays in my position", said de Visscher.
"If he was not in good form and I still wasn't playing, then it would be another story. But at this moment Ellery Cairo is better than me.
"I have talked a lot with trainer Rene Vandereycken and from the talks I conclude that he has got a lot of trust in me.
"That gave me a really good feeling, which gave me a reason to extend my contract."
