PSV EINDHOVEN moved to within a point of leaders Ajax thanks to a 3-1 win at Utrecht.
Foeke Booy`s Utrecht were looking to cement their place in the top six, but were stunned by an early barrage from PSV.
Guus Hiddink`s visitors were two up inside five minutes, thanks to an early header from Mateja Kezman (pictured) and a strike Andre Ooijer.
To their credit, Utrecht regrouped and Dave van den Bergh breathed life into their challenge with a goal on the stroke of half-time.
However, class told as Kezman notched his second on 66 minutes to seal the win.
RKC Waalwijk continue to improve and they grafted out a 3-1 win over Roda JC.
The win was all the more notable as they had to play for over an hour with ten men following the dismissal of Rob van Dijk.
The loss of van Dijk did not deter RKC, who took lead the lead on 32 minutes through Zeljko Petrovic. Jochen Janssen doubled the advantage on the hour, butt they were made to sweat when Diego Jongen reduced the arrears with 15 minutes remaining.
However, Garry De Graef eased the nerves with an injury-time strike.
Groningen remain in trouble, but they worked hard to secure a point from their trip to Twente.
Goals by Georgi Hristov and Peter Wisgerhof gave NEC Nijmegen a 2-0 home win over local rivals Vitesse Arnhem.
