Leaders AZ Alkmaar were shocked by NAC Breda and FC Twente also lost to Feyenoord, but Ajax kept up their strong run with a win over ADO Den Haag and PSV Eindhoven were also convincing winners.
AZ Alkmaar suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at NAC Breda after Milano Koenders grabbed a last-minute winner for the home side.
Anthony Lurling put the hosts in front on 31 minutes, but the game looked destined for a draw after Brett Holman's equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
However, Koenders had other ideas and secured all three points for his side in the closing moments.

PSV Eindhoven took the opportunity to cut the gap at the top to one point by hammering Heerenveen 5-1 away from home in the day's late game.
Heerenveen had been unbeaten in 13 matches ahead of kick-off but were blown away by a superb PSV performance.
Ola Toivonen's double and a strike from Tim Matavz made it 3-0 within the opening 25 minutes, and Georginio Wijnaldum and Marcelo added further goals after half-time.
Rajiv van la Parra restored a modicum of pride for Heerenveen before the final whistle but his late effort did not dampen PSV's celebrations.
Ajax cruised to an easy 4-0 win over ADO Den Haag after the visitors were forced to play 80 minutes with 10 men at the Amsterdam Arena.
Ramon Leeuwin was shown a straight red card for a two-footed tackle on Christian Eriksen after 10 minutes and his team-mates never looked like getting something out of the game.
Eriksen himself opened the scoring on 19 minutes and Theo Janssen (58), Dmitry Bulykin (79) and Miralem Sulejmani (85) completed a comfortable victory for the home side.
Ajax are now level on points with third-placed FC Twente, who were beaten 3-2 by a John Guidetti-inspired Feyenoord.
Guidetti, on loan from Manchester City, opened the scoring after eight minutes and then completed a first-half hat-trick after netting twice more in quick succession just before the interval.
Twente rallied after the break and reduced their arrears to a single goal thanks to Nacer Chadli and Luuk de Jong, but Feyenoord held on for victory.
