Ajax eased into the quarter-finals of the Dutch Cup after thrashing Haarlem 4-0 at home.
The threat of an upset lasted just eight minutes before Ray Frankel put Ajax ahead by turning into his own net and Leonardo added a second on 34 minutes.
Kenneth Perez made it 3-0 before half-time and he completed the rout with his second of the game a minute from time.
RKC Waalwijk earned some respite from their troubles at the foot of the Eredivisie after winning 3-2 in extra-time at Sparta Rotterdam.
Inderlindo Moreno Freire put Sparta ahead after just 10 minutes, but RKC were level seven minutes later through Steve Olfers' own goal.
Hans van de Haar then had the visitors in the ascendancy on 39 minutes before Yuri Rose equalised for Sparta on 58 minutes.
The crucial goal arrived six minutes into extra-time when Luwamo Garcia struck to send RKC through to the last eight.
Ricky Kruys' 68th minute goal was enough to secure Utrecht a 1-0 home win over RBC Roosendaal.
Mike Zonneveld's 90th minute effort provided NAC Breda with a 2-1 triumph at Twente Enschede.
Glen Salmon had earlier put NAC ahead on 31 minutes, only for Sharbel Touma to level for Twente from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time.
