Ajax have been boosted ahead of the new season with the news that midfielder Roger should be fully fit to begin the campaign.
The 29-year-old's participation in the season opener against RKC Waalwijk had been in doubt after he broke a toe during pre-season.
However, Roger appears to have returned to full fitness and should be in Henk ten Cate's squad for Sunday.
The Spaniard was on the scoresheet in Ajax's youth team game against Omniworld and his return in time for the new season will be welcomed in Amsterdam.
Roger joined Ajax earlier in the summer from Villarreal and is expected to play an important role as the Dutch giants attempt to regain the Eredivisie title.
