Steve Pienaar and Hatem Trabelsi are to be frozen out of the first-team picture at Ajax after refusing to sign new contracts.
The duo have made it clear they will not extend their expiring contracts and are ready to sit tight and move on Bosman free transfers in the summer.
The news has not met favour in the corridors of the Amsterdam ArenA and the club have taken the radical step of deciding to overlook the pair for selection between now and the winter break.
Ajax are looking to sell the pair in January and it is hoped the development will force the players into accepting moves when the transfer window opens again in the New Year.
Nigel de Jong has been offered a new deal and is mulling over his options, but he too will be frozen out if he refuses to agree fresh terms.
