Juve complete Zlatan deal

Juventus have completed the signing of Ajax striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for ‚é¼16 million.

Juventus have completed the signing of Ajax striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for ‚é¼16 million (£10.8 million).

The Bianconeri signed Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro earlier on Tuesday and worked hard to seal their second big deal of the day.

The Swedish star signed after the Italian deadline of 19:00 CET (18:00 BST), but Juve convinced the authorities to open again and they sealed the deal before 22:00 CET.

Ajax blocked the transfer because they did not have a bank guarantee from Juve, but the Italian club came up with the money and the deal was concluded.

The Dutch giants were keen to land Arouna Kone from Roda as Ibrahimovic's replacement.

However, the Ivory Coast star had a problem with his medical and the Ajax medical team did not have sufficient time to investigate and the move was cancelled.

Kone will still have hope of a move, but he will now have to wait until January at least.

Meanwhile, Ajax have allowed young defender Jerold Promes to join RKC Waalwijk.

Promes has been signed to replace Khalid Boulahrouz - who has joined Bundesliga giants Hamburg.

Boulahrouz is not the only Dutch-based player to join Hamburg as they have also loaned Jean Carlos Donde from Feyenoord.

The 21-year-old left back impressed Hamburg whilst on trial over the past few weeks.

In a busy evening for The Rotterdammers, Feyenoord also sent youngster Dustley Mulder to their feeder club Excelsior for the rest of the season and agreed a deal with Vitesse Arnhem for Peter van der Berg.

The 30-year-old defender has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third.
