Ajax have bolstered their strike-force ahead of their Dutch title run-in after surprisingly snapping up Roda striker Yannis Anastasiou.

The 30-year-old, who was out of contract in the summer, was Roda's top scorer this season with eight goals from 18 Eredivisie appearances.

Anastasiou took a pay-cut to join the Amsterdam ArenA outfit and is now in line to make his debut for manager Ronald Koeman (pictured) against PSV Eindhoven on Sunday.

The Greek hit-man, formerly of OFI Crete and Anderlecht, has signed a one-and-a-half year contract with the Eredivisie leaders.

Anastasiou has been capped five times by his country and had his most productive season in Holland back in 2001 when he netted 19 goals for Roda.
